P2P Lending
Connecting global lenders
Connecting global lenders
with UK postgraduate students from LMICs.
Lendapp is a prototype exploring how peer-to-peer lending could support international postgraduates from lower-middle-income countries to study in the UK.

Adjust the figures to see monthly repayments for a sample loan.
How it works
- Lenders fund part of a UK postgraduate student’s tuition or living costs through a peer-to-peer loan.
- Eligible students from lower-middle-income countries apply and are checked for course offer, identity and affordability.
- A loan agreement sets the amount, term and interest; repayments are made monthly once funds are disbursed.
- The platform then manages payments, track performance and provide updates to lenders.
Who is this for?
- Students: UK-based postgraduates from lower-middle-income countries who need an extra layer of funding.
- Lenders: Individuals or organisations who want to support education and accept the higher risks of peer-to-peer lending.
Where we are now
- Lendapp is a design prototype, not a regulated lender or live loan platform.
- The Loan Scenario Explorer shows illustrative example figures only and cannot be used to apply for real finance.
- Feedback from students, lenders and universities will help decide if this concept moves to a formal pilot.
